2022 US Open Championship

The U.S. Open Golf Tournament is upon us yet again, and it promises to be an exciting one this year. The days when Tiger Woods was the prolific favorite to win it all has come and gone, setting up a new era of professional golfers.

It's one of our favorite times of the year, not only because we love helping golf courses create stunning turf but also because we can appreciate good, old-fashioned competition.

We're here to answer a few common questions about the U.S. Open and also to give our hot take on who we believe will be the golfer walking away with the trophy this year.

When is the U.S. Open?

The 2022 U.S. Open will be televised on NBC and GOLF from June 16 to June 19. It's being held at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. It's been a part of golfing history since 1882 and has hosted numerous tournaments throughout its history, from this year's U.S. Open to the Ryder Cup in 1999.

Who won the U.S. Open in 2021?

It was Jon Rahm from Spain who took home the trophy in 2021. He became the first golfer ever from Spain to win the championship. His final two birdies sealed the deal and allowed him to walk away as the winner with just one shot ahead of Louis Oosthuizen from South Africa.

Who has the highest odds to win this year?

According to Sportsline, Scottie Scheffler has 11-1 odds to win the 2022 U.S. Open. Last year's champion, Jon Rahm, is second with 12-1 odds. The top five finishes with Rory Mcllroy, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa each at 14-1 odds.

And our prediction for this year's winner is…

It's hard to win the U.S. Open once and even harder to win the championship in back-to-back years. However, we're going with Jon Rahm to win it again this year. We also have our eye on Justin Thomas to walk away as the winner, so maybe we're still a little split on our prediction!

We hope you enjoy the U.S. Open as much as we do. Also don't forget - if you want your turfgrass to look as good as the greens and fairways at The Country Club, you can find the products to help you achieve that look at WinProOnline.com.
