Bora-Care® works to preserve wood while destroying wood-killing organisms. Borate salt combined with glycols instantly kills organisms when attempting to consume wood. This unique combination also prevents organisms from developing resistance.
The termite treatment is proved to kill and prevent:
- Dry wood termites
- Subterranean termites
- Formosan termites
- Carpenter ants
- Powder Post beetles
- Old house borers
- Wood-decaying fungi
Q: What is Bora-Care used for?
A: Wood treatment in new homes.
Q: What is the advantage of using Bora-Care® over Borax?
A: Bora-Care® is labeled for new home construction. Borax is not. Borax is a powder and does not contain the ethylene glycol that helps penetrate the wood. Borax would create a shell and Bora-Care® will penetrate better.
Q: How long does a Bora-Care® treatment last?
A: Boron is an element and should last as long as the structure is intact, and water doesn’t wash it away.
Q: How does Bora-Care® work?
A: When ingested by termites, the boron in Bora-Care® kills the pests.
Q: Is this effective for treating painted wood fence boards?
A: Yes, if it is sealed. If it is not sealed, then it will wash off and can kill plants and/or grass.
Q: Once Bora-Care® is applied on raw wood, can the wood be painted at a later date?
A:Yes, but only after the Bora-Care® is dry.
